The former 7000,000 sqft Boston Globe building located in Dorchester, MA, will be the new home to The BEAT. A modern office, lab, and retail space being developed to stimulate growth in the robotics, life sciences, and high-tech manufacturing fields. Corporate Mechanical of New England has been awarded the HVAC scope of the retrofit project for lab spaces. On the third level of the building, existing open space will be subdivided into lab tenant suites. And a portion of the first-floor area will be expanded for mechanical lab support. The scope includes HVAC equipment installation and related pipe fabrication and fitting on the rooftop, first-floor mechanical room, and third-floor labs. In total, 13 units of HVAC equipment will be installed, including AHUs, EAHUs, ACs, and VAVs.
